I have a bacterial infection in my gut. Can ozone therapy kill the bacteria and fix my stomach problems completely?

Answered by Clinic Living Plus Medical Experts · 20 Oct 2026 · 2 min read
The question, asked by a man aged 30 to 44

I've been having stomach problems for quite some time and was told I have a bacterial infection in my gut. I took antibiotics and felt better for a few days, but the symptoms started coming back. Someone told me ozone therapy can kill bacteria, so I was wondering if it could clean out the infection from my stomach. Can I just take ozone therapy instead of more medicines? Also, how many sessions would I need to get rid of the infection permanently?

If the symptoms keep coming back after the infection, it needs a closer look, and that’s what we do. The infection could be back because of:

  • A type of bacteria that is not responding to antibiotics.
  • In such cases, a stool test can be done to figure out which treatment will work.
  • If it’s the H.pylori bacteria, it does not respond to the common antibiotics.
  • SIBO, the overgrowing bacteria in the small intestine, can cause almost similar symptoms.

Infection and antibiotics can weaken the gut lining. It can also wash out the good gut bacteria. Ozone therapy is not a replacement for the existing medicine. It does have antimicrobial properties that support gut healing. But a confirmed bacterial infection needs the right medical treatment. Ozone is good as an add-on.

The number of sessions depends on the cause, your test results, and how well your gut responds.

Suggested Tests

  • A review of the original test report
  • Stool culture with antibiotic sensitivity
  • H. pylori urea breath test, stool antigen
  • C. difficile toxin test
  • Lactulose or glucose breath test, to check for SIBO
  • Faecal calprotectin
  • CBC and CRP
  • G6PD test
  • Coagulation profile

How Clinic Living Plus Can Help

At CLP, we provide proper medical treatment along with gut healing support. This helps clear the infection at the root cause.

We find the right bacteria by reviewing the original report. We also arrange a stool culture and sensitivity test to determine the right treatment.

H. pylori, C. difficile, SIBO, and inflammation are checked.

Our doctor treats the infection with the right medication and also coordinates with your gastroenterologist.

After the G6PD screening, the ozone therapy can help rebalance the gut microbiome.

Regular follow-ups and retests to confirm if the infection has cleared.

Our goal is to find the root cause of the infection and treat it from there so it doesn’t come again and again.
