Peptide Therapy
WHAT ARE PEPTIDES?
In short, peptides are naturally occurring compounds within our bodies that perform a wide range of essential functions. Peptides act as messengers that relay information or transport signals between cells. They are made up of short chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. The function of a peptide is dependent on the types of amino acids involved as well as their specific sequences. As we age, peptide production is often disrupted and the number of peptides in our bodies declines. The decline typically occurs around the third decade of life but studies have shown that some may start to decline as early as our 20s. The decline of peptides can create a ripple effect across many different biologic systems without the body which can affect functions such as aging, weight loss, metabolism, digestion, muscle mass, immunity, and sleep, to name a few. Through peptide therapy, we can safely and naturally reintroduce these peptides back into the body and get you back to healthy living!
